BREAKOUT PANEL: Faith in the Age of Social Media: How religion journalists can best use social media in reporting

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

The dawn of the Internet has revolutionized the way religious communities interact with each other. "Exvangelical" Facebook groups have become alternatives to Sunday morning service, the r/religion subreddit acts as a forum for some to declare their steadfast beliefs, while others post their existential angst, and "Muslim Twitter" bands together to write satire in troubling times. This panel will explore the way religious communities are using social media and how religion reporters can use these platforms to generate story ideas and find sources.
